Sign job off

When the technician completes the job, he/she enters a completion report. Helpdesk will then wait for a job sign-off, which can be done by the user who requested the job, the Helpdesk administrator or (optionally) the responsible technician.

Helpdesk will send email to the user and administrator with the relevant web page links. If Helpdesk is set up to send HTML mail, then the user needs only to click on the link.

Signing the job off implies that the job request has been completed to the user's satisfaction, and confirms that no further work is anticipated. When Helpdesk receives the sign-off, the job is removed from the job queue and archived. No further work can be performed against this job number. If further work is required, then a new job request will be required.

If the user is not satisfied, then the sign-off request can be rejected. Helpdesk will send periodic reminders until the job is either signed off, or the sign-off is rejected. If the issue is complex, and cannot be resolved immediately, or if the sign-off needs to be deferred for any reason, then the user or administrator can click on the defer option. This will suppress the reminders until the specified date.
